I have been taking my 2008 GTI here for almost 3 years and the guys at Advanced Autowerks never disappoint. Let's face it.. Women typically get crap service when it comes to anything automobile related, but that's not the case at AA. They always answer my seemingly crazy questions and are ever so nice. On top of that, they provide excellent service for reasonable prices. One thing that really stood out from the beginning was their taxi service. Everyone knows how much of a hassle it can be to drop of your car for service. You need to have someone give you a ride to and from usually, or pay high cab fares just so you can get to where you need to go. Not at Advanced Autowerks. They give you a $20 Yellow Cab voucher and will even call Yellow Cab to come pick you up! This works great for when I drop my car off early in the morning and need to make it to my office in SOMA. Aside from the taxi service, they do complete checks when you bring your car in for an oil change. I had a broken tail light when I brought my car in last time and they fixed it for me! I had also asked Jason if there was a detail shop nearby that I could schedule to come pick up my car after the oil change and he apologetically told me that there wasn't. The next morning when I dropped my car off for service, he said that he would have someone wash the outside of my car for me since there wasn't a detail shop nearby. Again, EXCELLENT SERVICE! But if this isn't enough to make you want to speed right over to AA for your next service, I'll tell you one more story. It's 6:30pm on a Friday night. I picked up my car from AA at 5:30pm and was running a few last errands before driving down to LA that evening. I'm driving down 3rd Street, make a u-turn and when I do, my car starts to make the craziest, scariest noise. It sounded like worn out brake pads screeching against the rotors, but my brakes still had 75% life left to them. I drove about 2 blocks but the noise wouldn't stop so I pulled over. I called over to AA (they closed at 6pm), but miraculously someone answered the phone. In a frantic voice I tried to explain the noise and what I was doing when it happened. I told the guy on the phone where I was and he said to stay where I am, that he'd be right there. Less than 10 mins later Randy and another guy from AA pull up. He hops in my car and we start to drive. He makes a u-turn just as I did and bam! The noise stops! Turns out that a rock had bounced up and was lodged in my wheel somehow and was making that screeching noise. Randy laughed it off and all I wanted to do was give him a big hug and a high five since he just saved me and my planned road trip! **THANK YOU RANDY!!!!**It just goes to show you how awesome the guys at Advanced Autowerks are. I will be taking my GTI here for many years to come. Or if the Scirocco will hurry up and get here, I'll be taking it! :)
